International Reading Association Newsletter Weekly Project: Effective Literacy Website #3

LearnOutLoud.com (https://www.learnoutloud.com) offers several audio and video learning for free and for purchase. What started in 2005 as a way to showcase audio and video learning content on line has continued to grow as the popularity of audio book downloads, podcasts, YouTube, free online courses, and other resources become more accessible.
In trying to find ways to maximize down time, such as in long commutes while driving, especially in the United States, LearnOutLoud.com offers entertainment and learning through an array of audio and video content. Getting caught up in those long commutes can be quite boring and what better way to pass the time, than by listening to a book you’ve always wanted to read or learning about science facts. If you are on a road trip with your child who may have an assignment that should be completed upon return, LearnOutLoud.com offers audio books on various subjects as well.
LearnOutLoud.com boasts over 50,000 of the best audio books, podcasts, free downloads, and videos you can learn from. The Free Audio & Video Directory that features 10,000 free audio books, courses, documentaries, lectures, interviews, speeches, and more is one of its most popular sections. For children LearnOutLoud.com features over 2,000 audio books, podcasts, and free videos for kids and teens to learn from. This in itself is a great resource for the classroom when looking for other venues for our students to learn from. Audio books are divided into sections or chapters which makes it easier to return back to while researching or just for clarification on what was read.
