KIZ PHONICS

Kiz Phonics is a progressive program that teaches children to read using a systematic phonics approach. It is a phonics instruction site providing a complete set of materials to teach phonics. The interactive activities and worksheets are appropriate for children in pre-school (ages 3-4) to 2nd grade (ages 7-8). The website provides a plethora of resources such as downloadable worksheets, videos, songs, PowerPoint presentations, short stories, lesson plans, pacing guides, and interactive games. It is suitable for teachers, home school parents, and other educators trying to help children learn to read.
Educators are provided with the resources to teach and practice all the phonemes or sounds that are critical to developing a child’s ability to decode words and read. Parents can also use Kiz Phonics to teach their child how to read at home. The great thing about the website is that the skills are divided into categories. There is a list of resources for preschool children ages 3-4. There are two levels for kindergarten (levels 1 and 2) ages 4-6. There are also two levels for first grade (levels 1 and 2) ages 6-7. Lastly, there is a second grade level for ages 7-8. Educators or parents can select what level their child is in. I personally think this website is useful in education because the resources provided can be used in the classroom to promote literacy, particularly phonics and reading.
Although the resources are limited, Kiz Phonics offers free resources for the first 3 to 5 worksheets, videos, games, and flash cards. However, there are still available resources such as featured videos, games, and stories! Overall, Kiz Phonics provides intensives, structure, and comprehensive program that engages young children with a wide range of practice activities for a learning environment. The games are interactive and allows for children to have fun and be engaged in their learning.
