International Reading Association Newsletter Weekly Project: Effective Literacy Websites #2 Exploration

pbskids.org offers many educational games and videos on many topics and subjects.  PBS Kids caters to children starting at preschool age.  This is a great literacy website because there are numerous literacy games and videos to choose from.  There are games on phonics, spelling, reading, and more!  The website is committed to making a positive impact on students' lives through curriculum-based learning.  What's also great about this website is that students maybe familiar with the characters since they're from shows they may watch.  This site is free and easy to navigate through.  Parental or teacher guidance might be necessary for primary school age.  The site can be overwhelming with so many games and videos to choose from.
