It is the National Geographic website that caters to young children.The website includes teacher guides which provide lessons for various subjects like reading, language arts, science, etc. The guide includes the article itself, vocabulary, read and discuss, write and assess, and explore. The website is free and has printable resources. Another aspect that is really amazing about the website is that children can listen as the magazine is being read to them.They can also follow along with the highlighted text. The interactive book is complete with sound effects and includes interactive pictures for the students.In addition, the website is easy to navigate and has ample interesting topics that can be used in the classroom.I think that it is a great tool to use for struggling readers, English Language Learners, or as a way to promote a love for reading by sparking the students’ imaginations.
